93 Mar 23 Reply I have Lumenzia! I am working (slowly) through his basic / beginner tutorials. These lessons are kicking my...backside! Mar 7th
93 Mar 23 Comment This image is properly focused and exposed...and your rapid SS served you well! Did anyone get hurt, in this exercise? I agree with Dawn's comments. Your image might improve if the background buildings were removed or blurred. Mar 7th
93 Mar 23 Reply Thank you...and I need you to teach me how to use luminosity masks!! Mar 6th
93 Mar 23 Reply "added a luminosity mask to darken the trees"...what tools/products do you use to perform this step(s)? Mar 6th
93 Mar 23 Comment Dawn, I am a fan of B/W images. I am a Big Fan of this one! This image says, "cold". That you have nothing in the background, but more trees, makes for a great composition! Mar 6th
93 Mar 23 Reply ...great idea, Darcy Mar 6th
93 Mar 23 Comment I prefer your "original". I am drawn to the courageous hiker and the wonderful motion you have captured just below him! Further, The red jacket is attention getting, bringing my eye to the water motion. This is good! Mar 5th
93 Mar 23 Comment Maybe it is because I live in a high desert and see snow on a cactus all the time, so that to me is not as interesting. Your image is properly exposed and focused, but would be more interesting, IMO, if you had taken the shot from a lower angle, at an inch off the snow. The star of your show is the cactus...not the footprints in the snow!

93 Mar 23 Reply My image shows a broader, wider view of the harbor. IMO, your crop devotes more attention to the sailboat, directly in from of me. I was trying to capture a wider view of the harbor. Mar 5th
93 Mar 23 Reply ...I wish I had thought to use "evocative" ! Mar 5th
93 Mar 23 Reply Mark, this photo is excellent Mar 5th
93 Mar 23 Comment Ed, IMO, this image suffers from motion blur. I struggled with the same issue, and went to Tom Bol Photography for help. Tom told me, especially with a long lens, SS should be fast...no less than 1/1500. He had me reduce my aperture and increase ISO, accordingly. To solve your ISO/Noise issue, test drive Topaz products...DeNoise, and Sharpener. If you are a NIK guy, you can get relief from that package, too. And Darcy's crop is better...clearer! Mar 4th
93 Mar 23 Comment There is a story , here! Indeed, cropping should occur, IMO, on both top and bottom. I doubt you'll get a consensus as to how much. The story is that there are at least 3 boats; and since they are gathered together, they have found an active spot...somebody is catching something(s). The time of day and the weather is told by the mist. Wonderful capture of the mist. Wonderful contrast. Like Mark, I want to know how you did it! Just askin' for a friend! Mar 4th
