P.S. to your p.s.
I may just take you up on that Oregon trip, and the bottle of wine! |

This is a very interesting shot...rather mysterious!
Consider two ways of improving your already good photo:
If you wish to leave it in color, consider playing with saturation and color sliders in Camera Raw. Do you have NIK collection in your s/w options. Dawn has some very good ideas, this month, in her photo of Grand Canyon.
Then, to add to your story of the window, consider transitioning this to B/W! You already have great texture in the wood and shingles. B/W will bring out the mesh fencing on the deck. Perhaps little children lived there...or visited. Someone was guarding against a fall down the steep hill! This shot has all kinds of potential. |

Great use of wide angle and f/29. I see no noticeable camera movement. What are we looking at in the foreground? Had there been a pier there, before? Is there a story there?
There is another great bridge shot on your club website...Stephanie Ames! |

Great capture of the clouds and rain! The effects of B/W on clouds is always impressive. FWIW, I wish you had brought out the shadows, the mountains this side of the rain, but you have highlighted the stars of the show...the clouds and rain! Well done |

This is an excellent "how to" tutorial. It will take me a while to try and fully appreciate your techniques, but this is very useful. |

Very creative! Great use of the B/W mask. The clouds in your originals are nice but not nearly as powerful as when you converted them to B/W. The plants on the left, and the pole on the right do not strengthen your image( in my view)...but I imagine their removal would have been arduous. I like this a lot.

The image of Horseshoe Bend, from last month, was extraordinary. This one is even better!! You are on a roll! I'm glad you mentioned HDR. Did you use any "Sharpen or Denoise" filters, before the HDR merge? Please tell us more about your dodge/burn process. |
