Ed, I like your photo. I'm especially interested because of Mark's comments regarding "focus on the bird" and "focus on the flower. I have been struggling with "focus vs sharpness". Your bird is in focus, but not as sharp as your flower. What focus matrix do you usually use? This is good, and I'm ready for a few more of your seascapes. Well done |

Thank you for noticing the sharper focus. My images have been suffering from a "motion blur". In an attempt to correct this, I tried increasing my ISO and my SS, and by converting from Av to Tv. The reflections were the eye grabbing feature of this scene. I cannot explain them, and they are unusual. I appreciate your kind comments. |

Thank you for your kind comments. "Gaggle" does qualify here...because this "collection" of geese is "not in flight". The birds are standing/resting on thin ice...literally! I cannot explain the abstract reflection, although it was the "abstract' that caught my eye. The duck told me he had been shunned by his own tribe, so he was hanging out with the geese. Again, thanks for your remarks. |

As for me, the combination of "abstract, along with nature" makes the scene! One without the other is uninteresting! |

Thank you. Yes, I shot this at 1/500th. The color is from the reddish mud that makes up the pool bottom. |

The cloud texture looks like thick strands of cotton. Really interesting! Nice image |

Yes...good move to capture the hummingbird moving "into" the frame. Your focus on the bird is spot on! Was your camera set to High speed shutter. Well done! |

Mark's comments regarding PP are paying dividends to all of us. Your added texture on the snow is really well done. Regarding the image in the reflection ...what is it? Is this at a lake at the base of My Rainier? From you and others in our Group I am learning to us faster SS to reduce blur and improve focus. Have you reviewed Topaz filters?

Good use of wide angle lens...great texture on the roots. Is this an HDR image? You offer great exposure on the top third, AND the lower 2/3 of your image. What kind of tree is this |

The textures in the clouds are mysterious...need to know more. Tell us you camera, camera settings, SS, lens et al. And tell us about the bridge in the distance. There is a story here! |
