Yes, the spot is sun glare. I didn't notice until I had sent it in to ED. I have since used fill/content aware to remove it. This area is near Hayward, Wisconsin. Thanks for your comments |

The "back story" is how we came to find this place; and the fact that we have returned every year since 1984...with the same group of friends! Really...the same friends! This is the north woods of Wisconsin. I agree with the expression, "places don't make things happen...people do", but this place was so unlike the concrete-and-glass city life of Chicago, it allowed me to kick back, take deep breaths, drink a Leinenkugal in the middle of the day, and dream of, one day, staying more than a week a year. Think "Same Time Next Year" and "The Big Chill". Then think about reaching a time when you don't have to drive home on Sunday afternoon. I didn't stay a week this year. I stayed 3! I had arrived.

I have massaged your image in B/W, (and it looks very good, BTW)but the resulting file is too large to upload for this site. I'll try figuring this out. |

Your revision is the best, yet...less blue and better visibility of the rocks. |

A two hour drive, then a 1.6 mile hike, then multiple sets of shots...I admire your energy as much as your photo skills. I prefer Original #3. The others are too blue, for me. Original #3, however, is very interesting. The orange tint, from the polluted air and the light from what appears to be a roadway compete for my attention. Thanks again for your detailed PP remarks. This is a good image.

I like what you're presenting here. At first glance, I thought I was viewing a scene from The Martian...or Planet of the Apes. I don't mean that in a bad way!! I like your texture in the sand and the sheen on the driftwood. I prefer this image over the B/W alternative...but keep working on your B/W technique! |

F14 was a good idea! Everything is crisp, clear. Are you satisfied with the amount of foreground shown...could you live with a bit less? And did you consider this in B/W...great clouds. For me, the clouds are the story...lots going on. And the smoke belching from the plant? What sort of plant?
I like this. |
