I visit your Group, from time to time, so as to keep in touch with Mr Treadwell. During this visit, your "Lake Louise" caught my eye!
There is a lot going on here...and I like all of it. You have vividly explained what the day was like...raindrops breaking up, what had probably been a "glass surface", and a mist lurking over the mountain sides, indicating the rain will be there for a while. "Calm" is a good choice of words, here!

Ed, your primary element, the splintered tree could have been struck by lightning! Is that what happened? In my view, if your tree had been captured at f/3.5, or so...so the forest is blurred and gives way to your primary element. I'm more curious about your tree. And explain to us why you prefer "high" ISO settings!!! Thanks |

Darcy, if you will review Michael's narrative, this month, he explains his use of "NIK"
products. And they offer a trial period.

It need not make a difference, but the title of Jeff's image is also "Lonesome Tree" |

Jerry...Jerry, every once in a while you come up with an image that says, "Frame Me" !! Earlier you submitted an ocean scene that also grabbed me. Allow me to say, if you were to crop/remove the lower 1/3 of this image it would get even better. Great light...great composition. Put it up for sale! |

Your son is right!
Thanks for explaining your use of the various filters. That is helpful, because I have such packages but have yet to learn how to use them. Nice job! |

Love this !!!
But tell us more details...about your f-stop, your shutter speed, et al
Here are the elements which draw my attention...I love the motion of the water with the stationary "sticks". The "sticks" make this happen. Then, you captured just a hint of light reflecting off the log in the middle / left...and that log is in perfect focus!
Nice job.
