I drop in on your images, each month...always interesting. Soon, I hope to attain your level of "no idea what I'm doing" . This is excellent! And please tell us you have shown this to the University!

I like images that include "fog...mist and fog". This is a good example. Lowering the brightness was a good idea. The word "mysterious" comes to mind. I'm glad you left just a touch color (blue) in your image. The blue drew my eye to the center of the image. This almost qualifies as a B/W entry...but not yet. Keep at it, and well done |

Jeff, what camera is housed inside the drone? And where is this place? I see similar land/waterscapes when we travel to Biloxi...but this is probably in the Carolinas. Your color, focus, exposure, depth of field are ALL spot on. I agree with Ed's comment that the shadows could be brought up, a bit, but it does not detract from the image. At first glance, my eye was drawn to the clouds. Then, my taste buds were drawn to the thought of Oysters...Scallops! Am I right?
This is a good shot for someone not yet familiar with equipment! |

Darcy, what tool(s) did you use to copy the background? |

I do not mind at all...thanks for taking the time to explore! I think your depiction makes clear that the umbrella needs to be in color. (You did a good job on painting the patrons!) |

My thanks to both Ed and Michael. Regarding Ed's suggestion, I had thought seriously about "coloring" the patrons and leaving everything else B/W. When I tried it, I found that "painting the patrons" was much more difficult than painting the umbrella. The "simple" umbrella matched very well with my "simple" skill level. |

I like your use of Topaz to re-create the background...yours is better, in my view. Topaz and NIK and great for giving an image a new look...often the look of a painting.
I experimented with your "Topaz" view by reducing exposure and adding a vignette. With your flowers, you have replaced the "freckles" on the gladiola with brush strokes. Nice touch |

Wow ! Very nice. The sky colors (and reflection) make this a beautiful image. Can the shadows be brought up a bit. I see light on the rocks on the right side...but I'd like to see more! And where is this lake? |
