Thanks for your comment, Ed. You are right about the location; it is part of upper Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The image was taken at wetland area.

FYI here is the website: http://www.cosumnes.org/about-the-preserve/. They have guided photography walk that I plan to attend on 2/22.

The image gave me immediate 'solitude' and perhaps a little bit 'sad' feeling due to the dark gray color. If you up the exposure a little bit will bright up viewer's mood, just my personal opinion. I love the aspect of 'solitude' in this image very much.

I agreed with Jerry. The foliage on the right side of frame can be distracted. I love the S curve and the peacefulness of the scene.

Hi Dan,
Not sure if you used 'adjustment layer/mask' before in PS. You can play with many different adjustment layer/mask and get the effect you need. Have fun with it.

My eyes were drawn immediately to the ships and flow through the fishing net lines. As I learned from somewhere in the past, usually you want to avoid even objects in the image but with the fishing net lines in the foreground on the right and far end on the left you made this wonderful image.

Thank you for your nice comments, Dan.
I totally agreed about the horizon line (train) almost end/cut in the middle. I should crop the right side (Jerry did a wonderful for me, thanks Jerry).). I didn't crop the sky and water because I want to keep the clouds and reflections so I ended up having top part a little more space than bottom part. I am the follower of 'rules of thirds' whenever I can and correct the images whenever I spot the issue :-)

Thank you, Jerry.
I love the way you cropped the image. I learn something new :-)
It may be my monitor display issue, the blue looks a little bit unreal after you bumped up the saturation.

93 Feb 20 Comment It is nicely composed photo. Do you use PS or any software for post-production? My suggestion is to make the foreground snow a litter bit different from the sky or vice versa will look less flat, this is how I view it.
You may intentionally to make it looks this way :-)
