This picture makes me wonder what your son was lost in thought about. I am caught by the ripples in the water then drawn towards your son and back again. In my opinion the brightness in the back of the frame is not a distraction as my eye seems to stop at the big rock and draws me back to the ripples. I love the composition.		 Nov 11th

I love the chaos of the picture. you have also captured the rainy feeling of the coast perfectly. The leave or wood that is hanging in the back right of the picture is a distraction. This is just my opinion.		 Nov 11th

I also prefer the color version, it seems something is lost in translation so to speak. This is my opinion but the second peak seems to be way washed out. I love the clouds and the blue sky that is peaking out.		 Nov 11th

I love the intent you conveyed with this picture. The colors work well together. In my opinion you captured the peacefulness of Alaska.
On a side note we drove that rode in 2017 on one of our Alaska adventures. This was the only road we ended up with a flat tire on the travel trailer, it is a very lightly travelled road. Hopefully we will be able to return soon.		 Nov 11th

Thank you for your comments. I think by doing it in BW the pattern stands out more.
This is why I love the feedback because you sometimes can't see something until someone else does. I will fix the exposure with a mask.		 Nov 8th

I will try again with the clouds on darkening them some more.
There is a halo around the ovens because I masked the ovens out so I could darken the trees and am left with the weird halo. I also love the BW but hubby loves color.		 Nov 8th
