Thanks very much Darcy. I agree with you, there is no four leaf clover! It took me a while in post to get the effect that I wanted and I am pleased that my fellow members seem to like the image. This is definitely a great group since everyone is quite accomplished. Putting an image in front of everyone for comment is certainly challenging. That's why we're "here". |

Thank you Jean. It was definitely about 50% image capture and 50% post-processing. |

Michael, something about this image gives me a sense of foreboding dread. I rather like it. I'm not sure if I'd crop the tree on the right because I like the mountain in the background. I am happy to see that you're using the same (camera) body that I am! |

Jean, my sense is that I wish you had captured another image of the scene to the immediate left and stitched a panorama of the mountains, lake and middleground. The exposure is good, but I think the capture may have been improved by stopping down to f/11 or f/16, and an ISO of perhaps 800 if you were concerned with handheld shake. Landscape scenes like this are generally best made with a sturdy tripod..... |

The Aurora Borealis is always magical. This is a very good rendering. I might consider cropping the indistinct foreground. I do like the tree on the right side of the frame. |

Dan, I have not seen too many images that I would rate as "completely blows me away". I could comment on the individual elements of your work but I think to do so would detract from the overall impression which to my eye is phenomenal! You have produced an award winning image! Well done!!! |
