Thank you for the cropping suggestions. I like Stuart's suggestion because it shows the shadow cast by the sundial. Michael's suggestion shows more detail of the sundial and stone base. I need to photograph this sundial again when the roses are in bloom and the trees are green; fortunately, this garden is here in town with FREE admission and FREE parking. |

Technical aspects of this photograph (focus, depth of field, exposure, etc.) are excellent. I would have tried to walk far enough to the right to include all of the bridge and both banks of the waterway and not include the buildings. I might go as far as making several exposures and stitching them together into a panoramic image. Bridges fascinate me, and I enjoy photographing then to document their engineering structure. Yes, I am a technologist not an artist. |

Just a little more depth of focus might help; another 1 or 2 cm should have brought the back edge of the shell into focus. Otherwise, this is a fascinating photograph. |

I agree that all of the rifle should be in the frame. I am puzzled why the muzzle of the rifle isn't facing in the opposite direction.
The angle of the soldier's head makes me think he is a casualty of war.
This photograph holds my attention making me wonder if the soldier is dead or asleep, wishing to see which rifle is beside him, what battle is this, etc. Excellent photograph. |

Excellent photograph. I might try to make the background a little darker. I like how the woodpecker is framed and fills almost half of the image. |

I like how you replaced the sky. Although, I think I would dim the stars a little bit so that they don't pull attention away from the lighthouse.
I like the detail in the stone of the lighthouse in the original image, but do not understand why that detail doesn't appear in the edited image. |
