Yes indeed! Modern mobile phone cameras are as good as DSLRs except in telephoto mode (limitations of digital versus optical zoom), and better at hand-held night photography than my 15-year-old DSLR (which can only go upto 1600 ISO). |

Excellent work! My eye goes first to the diagonal shadows of the rafters on the wall, then to the cross at the top and the background clouds, then down to the statuary of the Holy Family at the bottom left and the foreground wall, and finally coming back full circle to the window at the right. I quite agree with your choice of B&W for this image. |

This is a very interesting piece of work, although I have to admit that the large, bright, out-of-focus window frames dominate the image. You could try toning them down by darkening them. I agree that this is a work in progress, and that's exactly what these Study Groups are for. What I find most interesting here is the window on the right that seems to "hover" above the path, disconnected from it! |

Static? Not at all! The two trees are of such vastly different apparent sizes in the frame that they are well balanced. I like your treatment of the tonality, which brings out the great texture in both the bristlecone pine and the foreground rocks. The bleak and windswept White mountains of the Eastern Sierra are a wonderful place for such images, and the sky seems to have cooperated with you here. |

This is a classic image of El Capitan and the Yosemite valley, but is nevertheless VERY well done. I like the low angle and the inclusion of the water in the foreground. Notwithstanding the spectacular setting, to me it is the reflections that make this image unique and what it is. The distant valley slopes and clouds add depth to the image. |

Interesting image. My eyes go to her hands and then to her face. I find the stickers at left and right a little distracting, but they are part of the story. Just the composition within the black window frame could be an effective image by itself, but the sign above does provide a context without the need of a title. |
