One can also go in for a more aggressive treatment, cloning out the power lines (they contribute little to the image and are a distraction to me) and bringing back some detail and colour into the sky (second image below). You may or may not care for all that. |

First of all, PSA judges won't care for this image, but I don't think you care about that! :-)
I like your creative treatment - this certainly conveys the image of driving down a road at speed. But I think the bland roadway detracts from the impact. Selecting the roadway and decreasing the contrast produces the first image below. |

Well done, bringing out the shapes, colours and especially textures. |

I don't mind the shallow DoF here, as the focus is on the face. I like the details of the scales, highlighting the texture clearly. |

Together with your description, this image is a poignant commentary on how the pandemic has affected us across the world in so many ways. I didn't think my eyes would well up with tears for an unknown man in a foreign land, but that is the effect it had. The details in the reflection, the plaster and the woodwork of the door all add to the sense of place. I agree that the image can be cropped from the bottom almost up to the top step, and it would have been better to retain the lettering of the sign in its entirety. |

Some 35 years ago, a friend took me to see some such "paintings" at a gallery in Houston, but I took them to be just black curtains! (He was SO disappointed seeing my absence of reaction). |

Many contemporary politicians are masters in repackaging and reselling "nothing" to their voters; so why should artists be left behind? As long as there is a market for it... |
