Indeed the eyes stand out and hold the viewer's attention. I'm not sure where the handler's shirt was that you cloned out, but is that the original background shown here? If so, this fellow would blend in quite well and be almost invisible from a distance! I'm also struck by the repetition of the orange color in the background - a compositional technique used in painting - to repeat the same palette of colors in different parts of the image. |

PEI has many interesting photographic opportunities. It is not clear to me that this is a barber shop. Is that indicated by the red striped roller? If I was the barber, I'd put up a sign in English and/or French. The structure reminds me of so many dilapidated houses I'd pass along the Louisiana bayous at the other end of the continent. |

Sad! Too gory for me. (And in the prevalent local environment here, I could be lynched even for liking such an image on social media). |

The drop shadow and vignette impart a 3-D feel to this image. Thus to me the purple background doesn't look like a frame; I don't interpret this as a framed picture on a wall, but as if I'm looking vertically down on flowers growing out of a window box. |

Very nice! I like it - and I agree that it has a painterly look to it! (I suspect, however, that it would not do well in the PSA Nature Division). I like the uncropped version even better, but might probably prefer to crop a little off the bottom to a more landscape format. |
