Karen this is a lovely image. I like the way the foreground has such intense colour and the background is a muted haze.
I woould crop the left hand side so that the church spire is on the vertical "third" line and crop out some of the top so that the background hill starts in the top right hand corner of the image. |

I was wrong on all counts then. I assumed the bride was probably somewhere beneath the canopy behind the people in the foreground.
The smoke really adds to the image. Well done in catching it. It frames the image beautifully.
It is a great photo. |

Jim, this is a nice simple photo.
The texture and the intricate details of the petals and the bud wrapping are tack sharp. The veins and the hairs on the petals stand and are in contrast with the soft bokeh of the background.
The lighting is soft and diffused.
The bud is well-placed in the frame, slightly off-centre, and this creates a nicely balanced composition.
Well done

Wow!
The "negative" version really works well.
It is a stunning image.
I like the horizontal leading lines that connect the curves of the structure and the way these are separated from the black vertical stakes in the foreground (I have probably just insulted some artist's prize sculpture) that are surrounded by the white foliage.
All these lines lead the eye to the solitary person high up in the background and contrasted against the black background.
A great image and nicely worked in post production.

Shirley, I admire the fortitude of you and your husband for going out before dawn to take a photo of a sunrise.
The result is a lovely landscape. The horizon sits comfortably about one third of the way down from the top of the image. The sun is not blown out and it beautifully lights up the clouds above and flows down over the fluffy tops of the fog below. This all contrasts with the solid, dark landscape of the cool hills.
I particularly like how the sunlight filters through the leaves of the foreground bushes.
A great image!
Getting up early was worth it.

Welcome to our Group, Stanley.
You have certainly set a high standard with your first image. Well done.
This is a lovely bright street photo. Did you paint in the effect of the smoke with Photoshop? If you did, you did it extremely well.
To me your image conjures up a mystery. It asks a question, which is something I like. It asks, "Where are the bride and groom?" They are clearly behind the front group that you have photographed. The focus of the surrounding crowd is on them, and that is hidden from us. We have to wait to see them. I love that slight tension/mystery this creates.
Well done and keep the photos coming in
