Thank you Karen. The image with the pedestal is starting to grow on me. It was not part of the original concept, but I think it adds to the story!

Thanks Piers. You have got me thinking way more deeply into one of my images than I had ever thought I would.

Thanks Shirley. I just wish these flashes of creativity came to me more often. Alas they are rare occurrences. |

Jim, his is an intriguing take on automotive photography with a post-processing style that gives it a vibrant, almost illustrative quality. The sheen on the car and the way the light plays off its curves are great.
I like the hi-key approach. It is an interesting way of removing the usual clutter that surrounds some of cars when they are on display.
My only suggestion would be to desaturate the blue and green areas so that they blend in with the rest of the background. Well done!

Karen, you have done a wonderful job of capturing the dynamic motion of the splash. The contrast between the sharpness of the liquid and glass against the smooth, dark background is striking, and the choice of colour in the background adds a great sense of depth and interest to the composition. The timing to catch those droplets in mid-air is impeccable, giving the image a lively and spontaneous feel.
I have a MIOPS trigger that I use to try and capture lightning. Lightning is quite a rare occurrence in this part of the world and by the time I have re-familiarised myself with the trigger's instructions and set it up the storm is usually long gone!

Shirley, this is a strong wildlife image, and I like the way you have cropped it. It is sharp and I like the composition.
You've managed to isolate the bird well against a soft, unobtrusive background, which really makes the subject stand out. The sharp focus on the bird's feathers, along with the light catching its eye, brings life and dimension to the image. The natural light at the time this image was taken castes a gentle glow on the bird and highlighting its textures. Well done!

Piers, this close up image captures some of the beautiful details of the motorcycle. It showcases the reflective chrome and the textures of the materials.
I like the lighting. It highlights some interesting shadows that contribute to the composition. The close-up framing of the bike emphasizes the sleek lines and the mechanical intricacies. It also adds a feeling of intimacy with the subject.
A great photo, well done

Tor, your image has a wonderful sense of tranquility and a strong connection to nature. The misty atmosphere gives it a dreamlike quality, with the surfer and his board providing a clear focal point against the overall softness of the image. The balance between the surfer and the environment is particularly well done, allowing us to feel the expanse of the beach and the forest beyond.
You have a muted colour palette, which fits the serene mood. I like the composition with the surfer positioned off-center as it adds a dynamic feel to the shot.
A great image. Well done!

Julie, I like the composition of this rather challenging landscape. The leading line of the creek takes the eye up the gully to the gum trees, which in turn connect the middle ground with the background sky.
The flat light has NOT been your friend. I would suggest playing with the "Curves" slider to create a some contrast and then painting on the image using a 50% grey layer to create some highlights and shadows.
It is a pity you didn't catch one of those kangaroos wearing a red jacket. I know are quite abundant in that part of Australia
