Hi Shirley, thanks for your comments. She certainly stood out from all the other market vendors in the village square and she was an obvious "person of interest" for someone with a camera. |

Thanks for your comments, Jim. I think it came out well considering the language difference between the two of us .... and yes, your wife is right, the South of France is very picturesque. |

Thanks Karen. I think it has come out well considering it was a street portrait and the communications between the two of us were difficult |

Thanks for your comment Tor.
I am glod that you saw the reflection as the subject of the image. That was my intention when I took this image. I had a thought in the back of my mind that there was an upcoming Club competition where the "set subject" was "Reflections" and this composition satisfied that requirement. |

Karen, this image brings back memories of when we sailed past Krems on the Danube many years ago.
I think your timing is perfect. The bell tower of the blue church nicely connects the village with the blue sky above and you have provided a nice separation between the ruins of the castle in the distance and the tower.
I like the complimentary colours of the blue tower, sky and the orange roof tiles.
I like the composition. The image is sharp and the exposure excellent.
This is a wonderful travel photo. I am well aware of the limitations travellers have with time, location, suitable lighting etc, and you have do well to capture an excellent image as the church and Krems flashed past you as you cruised by.
Well done

Shirley, the total eclipse must have been quite an experience to witness. You did well with your phone to take this image. This image is a good one to keep as a reminder of this exciting moment.
Well done as this event may not happen again in your area for many years to come.

This is a striking image of a fox with some very dynamic lighting. The backlighting creates a dramatic rim light that outlines the fox beautifully, highlighting its form and fur texture, this adds a lot of depth to the image. The eyes are sharp and there's a strong connection between the fox and the photographer. The ground also glistens, adding texture and interest to the lower part of the frame.
Well done and excellent image

Piers this is a striking shot. It is sharp and details on the butterfly and the flowers are exceptional, allowing us to appreciate the texture and colors vividly. The shallow depth of field has nicely isolated the subject from the background, and the dark background itself helps the butterfly stand out beautifully. The composition is well-balanced, with the butterfly positioned in a way that creates interest and allows the eye to explore the intricate patterns on its wings.
An excellent macro image and well done

This image presents an intriguing interplay between the sharp lines of the yellow fence and the soft, bokeh background with hints of purple flora. The contrasting colors create a visually stimulating composition, and there is a sense of tension between the man-made structure and the natural environment. The selective focus on the fence highlights its texture and the interwoven pattern, while the blurred background adds depth and a splash of color to the scene.
Well done Tors

The evening light catches the "Pod" of pelicans nicely.
To me, the rule of odds is retained - There is only ONE pod, hence there is an odd number to satisfy the purists.
I like the diagonal line they make across the image.
If you want to add more water to the left of the image, try extending the canvas to the left with the crop tool and then use the clone tool to copy across the dappled water. This method is quite effective with "choppy" water. I have little faith in the "content aware" aspect of the Fill tool in Photoshop.
They say you always learn something new every day no matter how hard you try not too. Today I learned about about pods of brown pelicans for the first time. In our part of the world they are usually pristine white with black wings. Mind you, our swans are all black, not like the white ones "up north."
A lovely image Jim, well done.
