2 Oct 23 Comment I am a lousy bird photographer and I know how difficult it is to photograph birds in flight.
You have done well in capturing this image.
Your final image uses only about 10% of the original image and the poor lighting has done you no favours.
However you have managed to use Photoshop to your advantage and recovered what you could from the original.
That said, I believe the processing you used to recover this image has left it with a slightly surreal look.

2 Oct 23 Comment A lovely shot, that I am sure will bring back memories for years to come.
I agree with the cropping that you have done and the toning down of the green tone. We don't get such vivid greens in our part of the world and it is always a surprise to see them when we travel to the northern hemisphere.
My eye goes straight to the sunlit hilltop in the background and I wonder if a serious crop to make this area of the photo the "highlight" might be in order.

2 Oct 23 Comment A lovely simple image with a simple story to it. Well done. As Piers said you have corrected the tilting horizon that is apparent in the original. I think you may have also cloned out a couple of distracting footmarks on the left hand side of the image, which brings the focus back to the shoes, the footmarks and the lone swimmer.
I like this image!

2 Oct 23 Comment A few years ago I travelled in and around PA photographing old barns. In the back of my mind was our camera club's set subject entitled "Rural Decay," and there was no shortage of old, disused and decaying timber barns in the Pennsylvania area.
You have found a fine example here with peeling paintwork on the walls. I like the black and white version of your image, but the lighting on the other barn is a little more interesting and I wonder if you couldn't also include it in your image.
Maybe something like this:-

2 Oct 23 Comment Well done Terri.
This is a well thought out and executed image. It is simple and I like the colour palette. Great post processing. I am not sure you need the small boat with a red sail, but I look forward to seeing what you have in mind.

2 Oct 23 Reply Thanks Piers. A gradient with a touch of blue lifts the image considerably. Maybe I have overdone the additional blue. I will play around with your suggestion
