Thank you Karen. Maybe you can rejoin our group at sometime in the future, if a vacancy opens up.
It was a great evening, the weather was balmy and the photographic light was good. The people around us were happy and they encouraged total strangers, like my self, to join them in whatever it was they were celebrating.
Some great photos came out of a 15 minute photo shoot and I will be sharing them over the next few months. |

Thank you Jim,
It was all very hard work as Europe is such a long way away. But over the coming months I will show you some of the images I took.
As I mentioned to Piers I will play around with the cropping of the image |

I agree with the term "ethereal" to describe this image. It is a lovely image.
You made a good choice to have the subject walking away from you. She looks as if she is walking through an arch into the "unknown." There is some mystery in the image, an untold story maybe!
The image is nicely framed with the boughs of the trees.
I also like the blue, green and yellow banding you have achieved, and how the boughs of the trees link the middle/foreground to the sky.
Well done |

I like your image Piers. I tool a number of photos of broken down barns when we were in Pennsylvania a few years ago. It is so sad to see this bit of American heritage disappearing.
The colour scheme is quite different to those I am used to. I believe red is the traditional colour.
You did well to avoid the cattle. The light seems a little flat and there seems to be a slight green cast over the image. Maybe move the Tint slider in Lightroom slightly towards the Magenta end and see what difference that makes!
It is a pity the cattle didn't roam around the barn to add a little life interest to the image.
I like the image, well done |

Another great photo.
I like your post treatment. You have darkened the blue sides of the image so the eye is drawn into the brightest part of the image, which is where the boy is.
This could have been just "another" train photo, but your grandson adds life and interest to the image, by popping up unexpectedly and peering through the off-centred window and roughly at the third point.
I like the colours and you have handled the noise well.
I think this is a wonderful image. Well done. |

A nice sharp photo. It is a pity your subject wasn't a goofy footer. He would have been facing you! |
