2 Mar 22 Comment Thanks for your suggestions about seeing more of the young lady. I have done a quick, rough rework of the image.
The new image is very tall and narrow (3:1) which I don't really like. I also think the "extended" version lacks the power of the original. It becomes very busy. It was worth a try!

2 Mar 22 Comment I agree with Shirley's comments, you have done a great job in editing this image. You have even cleaned up the horse droppings!
It would have been interesting if you had a little more sunlight so that the lighting was not so flat.
Regardless, it is a great photo of two contented looking horses

2 Mar 22 Comment Jim, you have caught the serenity you were looking for. Well done. I like the diagonal line of the birds across the image. The high key processing works well. I like that the Wood-stork (the largest bird) is in the centre of the image and draws the eye in to it and holds it there.
Well done!

2 Mar 22 Comment Wow!
What a great portrait. I love your model, she has so much character in her face.
You have perfect Rembrandt lighting, well done.
Your post production work is wonderful. I like the way you have enhanced the soft light on her cheek (camera right). It is soft and beautiful. You have very good separation between the dark hat of the model and the background. The reflected light under the chin is just right and you have lightened the shadows on her face beautifully (camera right).
You have handled the shallow depth of field with the 85mm, f/1.2 lens well.
I am being a bit "picky" here, but I would like to see the catch lights in her eyes a little closer to the centre of the eyes. Maybe if you had turned her head ever so slightly towards the light or even move her back towards the backdrop to get the light from a slightly different angle.
My eye keeps focusing on the white hair (camera left). It is the brightest part of the image and slightly out of focus. Maybe if you had asked her to pull it behind her head or tuck it up under the hat, or even turn her head so it is not so dominant ... or even clone it out! It is easy to be "picky" after the event.
This is a great portrait and I hope you print it out and hang it on the wall.
Well done, I love it.
