Hi Julie,
I had a good instructor tutoring me on how to "crank the sliders." |

Hi Bev,
I just checked my records regarding this image's history. In 2018 it received a 10/10 in one of our camera Club's monthly competition, then a Merit in the Club's annual competition in 2018.
I sold two prints of it in the local Royal Adelaide Show in 2018.
From memory, I don't think it has received any acceptances in National or International competitions. |

This is an image of "gladdies" that Dame Edna Everidge would enjoy (sorry, an Australian joke).
I agree with Jaqueline, the light is perfect, the red and green colours complement each other and I like the negative space on the right hand side.
Well done and keep them coming! |

This is a great image, Hung. Taking images of birds is difficult at the best of times and you have done well to capture this image.
I would desaturate the green of the surrounding leaves, so that the eye is drawn to the bright green on the bird between the eye and the beak, and hence it's eye.
Well done. Print this and put it on the wall for all to enjoy. |

A striking image. I like the treatment of the background and the inclusion of the "leafy shadows" on the left-hand side. This gives the image some balance.
Well done. |

Well done in creating this panorama.
This is a very busy image.
My eyes are drawn into the scape by the leading lines of the pathway. But from there they are drawn towards the brightness of the crepuscular rays on the far righthand side of the image. This is almost out of the image and not where I was originally heading. Meanwhile, my mind is telling me that maybe the building is supposed to be the focus of author's intent. |

This is a nice image. It is sharp and there is plenty of action about it.
However, I am confused about the story. At first I thought the image was taken through the glass wall of an enclosed swimming pool with a graveyard beyond. Then I wondered if the graveyard was a reflection as I could see parts of the trees and tombstones passing through the head of the child and the forearm and cap of the father.
I thought the child was jumping into the father's arms, and I couldn't understand why there was so many water droplets surrounding him until Karen's comment that the child was being thrown upwards..... and finally I could not understand why someone would build a swimming pool so close to a graveyard.
As I said; it is a nice image but it leaves me confused! |

A great image, Jim. But like Shirley suggested make the horizon level. I might try and clone out the corner of the blue umbrella, but it does add some interest as it is.
This image really works for me. The blue and the orange are complimentary colours, so they work well together. Also the eye is drawn through the door by the brightness of the background
Well done! |

Hi Julie,
I can imagine a competition judge saying this image is actually two images. A top half and a bottom half. Maybe work on one of those halves!
I would be interested to see the original coloured version. |
