A great action shot. It is sharp and well composed. Well done.

Welcome to the group Jaqueline.
This is a lovely image. I agree with Harry about the cropping and brightening the flower and the butterfly. Maybe have a look at what effect slightly desaturating the greens has on the bright background. At the moment the left hand side is very bright compared to the subject of the image. |

While doing the suggested re-cropping, I realised that the original image had been cropped to a standard 8"x10" for printing/competition purposes.
Here is the new crop. It is almost 1:1.
Thanks for the suggestion. |

Thanks Beverly
I may have been foolhardy in doing this photoshoot, but I was reassured by the presence of young mums walking across the square with babies in their prams, all just out of photoshot, and people sitting drinking coffee and watching. It was actually quite a jovial atmosphere.
At exactly 4 o'clock the chaos stopped and everyone (protesters and police) packed up and went home as if nothing had happened. By 4:15 the square was back to normal. |

Thanks Karen. It was not clear to me what was going on, so any confusion in the image has served it's purpose. As far as I could see, there was a small group of people protesting against the French government for trying to cut their wages and a much larger group of people who just wanted to provoke the riot police. It was a little like watching a medieval battle with each side fighting to secure various parts of the city square. |
