65 Jul 20 Comment Shooting water droplets requires a lot of hard work and it looks like it has paid off here Angela :)

I really like the simple colours which are quite soft, something which I follow during my landscape shots with zoom lenses. In this type of photos, I really like to keep the entire frame simple in terms of the elements in the frame and number of colours (which is usually less than 2-3)

Coming back to this photo, my only suggest will be to give a bit more space on both the sides as right now I feel that its tightly cropped. Attaching an example, please don't focus more on the reflection light, where I did not spend much time with healing brush.

65 Jul 20 Comment Beautifully composed Charles. To me macro photo was more about capturing the subjects as they are, without much of the set-up, but I have been getting inspired from this group to be creative with my set-up. This will promote me to be creative and have a base idea to start and while working through some of the shots, I may end up with an image which may suit my taste and style. As mentioned in another comment today, I will surely try some of these techniques in the coming weeks and share with you all for your comments.

The only point which I do want to highlight is the grain in the frame. I think it might be the result you were looking for, but given the subject has natural grains in it, avoiding it in the surrounding will make it more pleasing that it looks to me now. A small amount of softness looks good. Again, your image surely has a different feel all together. I did touch a bit on the exposure and highlights, but that can be avoided

65 Jul 20 Comment Love the colours combination and contrast Peter. Though its a 2D image, I can imagine the 3D effect where the colours shift as I move my point of view - Amazing!

If you want the outcome to be the true representation of the shell, in terms of its shape, size, etc... the only point to note will be the distortion at both the ends (left and right), which to me gives a feeling of the shell being stretched. However, if the outcome which you are expecting is to reflect your creativity and art, this photo suits well.

65 Jul 20 Comment Love it Lynne. A very creative way of shooting macros indoor. Thanks for sharing this photography as I do want to try something similar in the coming weeks.

I do like photos which are a bit less contrast but given the simplicity of this photography where there is a very thin differentiating lines between foreground and background, a bit of contrast especially on the twig will really make it pop. And I think a bit more brightness will do more good to the image. I am attaching the photo to depict my feedback.

65 Jul 20 Comment A very nice shot Elaine and I really like the colour combinations, especially the purple at the end of the leaves. And hats off to you for taking multiple shots hand hand and stacking them. Its a touch job and you have a decent result.

Apart from the feedback from others on harsh light, the only other thing which strike my eyes is the composition. As you have got a close-up shot of the flower, keep the central part dead centre of the frame would work really well. Do try to crop and compare the two frames.

I really like taking closeup shots of flowers, so I do like this photo

65 Jul 20 Comment Thank you all for your honest feedback and Charles point about learning curve is true and makes a lot of sense. Thanks again.

The only reason I did not crop into the spider is because it was not looking at me and I felt that cropping it further makes me feel like something was missing in it. However, few steps back would have made the difference and I will try this the next time.
