Jim, your edit brings the woman on the left closer to the rule of thirds, which is better that my positioning. In my next rendition, I will extend the left side of my image to do the same thing as far as the rule of thirds is concerned. That would allow me to keep the Hopper look and correct the positioning. Thanks for the feedback. |

I see strength and violence in the water. I believe you have captured the energy very well. To my eye the tonal range of the water and the sky compliment each other. I feel the angle of view is very good with a very slight S curve in the water flow. To me the monochrome banks on both shores and the vegetation also provide a sense strength holding back the violence of the water. Something the color image does not portray. |

Henry, I like this image a lot. To me the background has just enough detail to give the image context and not to distract from the main subject. I like the way the fern on left, the shadow in the center, and the fern in the upper right lead my eye across the image without distracting it from the main subject, and each is in a third of the image. To my eye the shadow and the veins in the leaf compliment each other. |

Great tonal range, I believe you captured all the zones. The exposure is very good with detail in the shaddows. I especially like the variation in texture. You've reminded me to look up and down for images, not just straight ahead. |

I like the softness, lightness, and cropping of the image. It speaks to me of love and tenderness. I agree with Henry's comment about the vignette. |

To my eye this image has excellent tonal range, lighting, and gives a sense of wonder. Is he a photographer demonstrating the camera to the boy , or a magician getting ready to make the boy disappear. I like the current background. It adds some depth to the image. |

Henry, thank you. My inspiration was Edward Hopper and his paintings. It seemed to me that the scene resembled something that he would paint. I tried to do justice to his style. |
