I agree with Angela. My only suggestion would be to make the flume slightly sharper which, in my mind, would aid in the leading line. Very nice image |

I want to be shipwrecked on this island. I wouldn't change anything. I just think this is so cool. |

This is a fun image. I really like what you did with the curvature of the water. Like Angela, I would have preferred an all black background. BTW, I liked the other name better.:} |

After I sent this to Bev, about 2 weeks later I realized I forgot to add the Story. This was taken this May at Gibbs Garden in Georgia. Info: Tamron lens 18-400mm @ 400mm, 1/8000 sec, f/6.3 ISO 800. around 1pm overcast. This image is of a coral poppy. It was sitting in the middle of a huge poppy field of all red poppies. The wind was approx. 15 mph Hundreds, thousands of poppies swaying and jumping all over the place and I had to choose this one because it was the only one around. No deflectors, no focus stacking :}. Brought into PS used a texture I had and painted in the flower.

Yvonne, That was a darn good start for not knowing what to know. Like stated, the composition was a little off, but not much. As to the revisions mentioned, I prefer your original as they appear far more natural It was a learning process then and look how far you have come! |

Donald, What Frank did was nice, but I prefer your original more. You are using a diagonal to bring the eye into the picture (while it might have been better coming in from the left). Your image is almost tact sharp (water droplets are a bear) You have a friend who is telling a story on how difficult it is to serve during a rainstorm. And you have marvelous depth of field enhanced by the upper left hand corner swirl (which is missing from the revised one) which makes the background look like a roiling river. I love the whole image.

Frank, A very nice image showing the complexities of a Crepe Myrtle. I do find it very busy, however I see many small stories that you could capture which, in my opinion, which would facilitate the image better. Looking at the very top of the image center, using an approx. 3.5"x3.5" square you would contain the flower, stem, small yellow flowers and bud. Filtering out the rest, making it a nice macro. |

Charissa, I think this beautiful. If anything, instead of cropping, as suggested, I think I would add a slight amount of canvas to give the furthest extended petals more breathing room and being able to show off the beautiful texture that you have captured in this flower. |

Bev, I agree with Donald. To me, having the base of the blossom come out of the halo adds a three dimensional flair. The image is vibrant and plays well with the blurred background and I love seeing the one small open flower on the bottom left. The only one to show how truly delicate this plant is. Wouldn't change a thing. |
