Hi Charlie: Wind was not bad, but the flowers were in a backyard shaded area. I turned up the ISO to where I thought it was needed. I then took one pic, checked the histogram, and decided I was good. |

I love boats, water etc. Alaska is a good place to find them. I find the blue tint quite calming. With everything sharp, my first reaction was that the photo is very busy. I then scrolled down a little so I was looking just below the top of the mast of the first boat. Seeing the boats and the reflections then was very satisfying. |

Can not add much to what has been said about this beautiful wildflower photo! So well done. Nice little path on the left leading into the photo and a great sky. |

Its almost there, Charlie. Good try. I like the colors and pattern. Its a good subject. Tell me a little more about your set-up. How did you move to different distances? Did you have something to help you? |

At first I was so taken by the gracefulness of the dancer that I never even saw the marks in the sand. Even though you had to take the photo in mid-day, it is to your credit that you ended up with a photo as good as it is. Her graceful form is attractive. |

I love it! This is one of a few pattern photos that I really like. It incorporates not only straight lines but curves as well. And done in b/w is the right move, for me. Well done Dave. |

A beautiful architectural photograph! When done at night everything looks even better. The pic is sharp, multi-colored and fills the frame. Because I see the "Bowls" as the subject, I would prefer to see only them and not the accompanying building. I keep getting distracted. |

Mark, thank you for your comments and welcome to this Group 45. A note about the spots: to me they are part of a beautiful group of blossoms. They are not to be removed just as I would not remove from a portrait of myself moles or warts from my face. I am what I am! If a person were to ask me to take a photo of them AND they want me to enhance the attractiveness of their face, so be it. As for the flowers, if I had in mind some artistic expression, then I can make any adjustments I believe contributes to the observational experience so long as the viewer understands the photo is now an artistic expression. In my comments about the photos of other contributors of this group, any suggestions for removing parts are never about the subject, but about the background in order to further enhance the subject. |
