Strange that I never noticed the left to right orientation. Thanks for helping me see that. Don |

For me the photo is too busy; lines going up and down, left and right and diagonal. You might crop from the right to the hand-railing the woman is holding on to, then from the left to the large post and finally from the top to below the a/c. This leave the subjects which are surely telling a story! After cropping, the photo shows smooth, white subjects surrounded by grimy structure, a nice contrast. The photo is sharp and, as originally conceived, has no dead space. |

I can see how you would be attracted to this scene. I would be too. All the color in the piano, especially the reds, is very attractive, yet does not over-power the player because he is wearing white. Everything about this photo shouts action, sound and is an invitation to the viewer to get involved. My only suggestion would be to have gotten a little more to the right in order to reduce the black dead-space over the left shoulder of the player. |

A lively and colorful photo. Lots of action by those tuning-up and others paying attention. All kinds of things taking place. The viewer can easily feel the action and interest of the players. I would like to have seen a little pull-back with the lens so the students in the back don't have their heads cut off, but fully included in the photo. Nice that the photo is filled top to bottom and side to side. |

Well done Richard. I like all the color, sharpness, and your removal of the white spots. I agree with Ray that cropping part of the bottom would improve the image. I would crop up to the top of the fencing. Such cropping leaves in the two people observing the ride. The black background nicely sets off the ride. Another option would be to slow the shutter speed so the "train" is slightly blurred and the ferris wheel in the background is slightly blurred which would emphasize the action/movement. Good job. |

Very nicely done Vince! Its beautiful. Can you tell us the ISO, shutter speed and f-stop? I have been wishing to do this same thing but in the evening. The tilt of the buildings does not bother me, though there is software that will straiten most vertical parts of a photo. Your photo brings to mind the idea of a quiet and calm beginning to the day. Your photo is an excellent example of one taken in the blue hour. |
