The distracting background was always present. Darkening and blurring seemed my only options. |

In your image, I see a lot of structure. Very free wheeling in the original. |

I don't know about the Chicago Bean, but I sure like your photo! Stimulating, colorful. I don't know what else to say. |

I'm 80 and think I am maybe half-way to getting photos I really like while keeping in mind I only have to create photos good enough to satisfy myself! Some suggestions for your photo: there is a noise reduction control in LR you can use to reduce noise in your photo (background, flute and fingers) or shoot in RAW and use the noise reduction feature there. I like the diagonal slant to the way the flute is held which introduces some dynamic, tension. I like your ability to see this subject for your picture. Others would have skipped it and looked for something else. Since this was an indoors shoot, you probably can not use very high shutter speed as a way to increase sharpness. So, next time, experiment with a slower speed and see if you can get a photo with slightly blurred fingers and sharp flute. Movement and time are two critical factors in photography (see Capturing Time and Motion, the Dynamic Language of Digital Photography by Joseph Meehan (2010)).

Nicely done. A golden hour bird and reflection. Sharp, nice reflection, no distracting background. I would suggest you try cropping some of the area on the right. By being off center, you introduce some tension in the viewer. I covered about 1/2 of the area to the right and thought it looked better. |

She's beautiful! You did a great job blending her into the black background. "The eyes have it!" |

I don't know about "OnOne" so I did not use it here. "Color case"; what do you see? A yellow tone across the image? I cut off the horses legs according to what I have seen recommended for humans. I did the cut off as I saw the rider as the subject and not the rider and horse. Watching the redo was fun, lots of action. |
