Thanks, Murphy. I like the building in the background, but I'll have to think about ways to minimize them.
The workmanship was awe-inspiring. |

Thanks, Charles. Good point about the building on the left. I wanted to give the aqueduct a bit of context but perhaps that was more than it needed. You are right about the contrast. |

Charles,
I like this a lot and like the cleanup you did here. It does appear that you left the top of the lightpost in the frame, however. You might consider removing that. You might also consider cropping in from the top about halfway to the top of the tree. Otherwise, this would make a terrific print! |

Hi Nenette,
Interesting scene. We'll be traveling there in August so we won't see the arctic conditions but I'm eager to see the landscapes.
I think I have to agree with Murphy about the original composition. Those three distant peaks are awfully compelling. I would still crop the sky the way you did to create a panoramic composition. I like the two cars. |

Sheldon,
The composition was well chosen. I like the way the chandelier and its chain lead the eye up into the dome. Processing was excellent. |

Murphy,
Another winner from this location! I like both compositions, but I think I do prefer the vertical original. Not sure I can articulate why, but it seems to work for me.
I can see I'm going to have to find an excuse to get down to the UW Hospital sometime soon. |

A well-timed shot, Peter! The crop and monochrome conversion work well here. |

Ed,
Nicely done. As the others have said, the image combines technical excellence with great composition. Iceland is a study of contrasts between ornate beauty and functional simplicity, something that comes through in their churches. This image shows how the two work together sometimes. |

Steve,
Beautifully processed and I love that sky! Looking at your image, I'm particularly drawn to the two wildebeests in the center and thought they'd make a nice portrait. Something to consider, perhaps? |

This is one of those subjects that always catches my attention. The sense of anticipation in an empty park bench is one of my weaknesses.
This is absolutely terrific. The composition and handling of light is spot on. |

Charles,
You positioned the boats just right. <g>
The contrast between the white sails and the darker background elements was well handled. Your crop was well chosen with enough water to give us a sense of place but not so much as to overwhelm the final image. The trees and other foliage are also nicely processed. |

Jack,
Wonderful use of leading lines, drawing me back to the distant hills. I agree with Charles that the sky needs something, perhaps a bit of lightening? It's a small nit about an otherwise great image. |

Arik, very strong image that illustrates the beauty of infrared. The strong contrast between the foliage and the structures really comes through nicely. The white lichen on the trees is particularly interesting. |

Hi Melanie,
Very strong portrait. I particularly like the hat up on the box. Great expression and gesture from your subject. All in all, really well done. |
