11 Feb 26 Comment Thanks for the great comments and suggestions, everyone! I realized that my geometry wasn't quite perfect, but after playing with the transform tools in Lightroom, I decided it was "good enough". My lens was just wide enough to take the shot so as Ed says, I ran out of image. Feb 13th
11 Feb 26 Reply Thanks, Peter. Your work was in the back of my mind as I was taking this image. Feb 7th
11 Feb 26 Reply Hi Charles, I actually reduced the contrast in the clouds. I will have go back and take another look. Thanks for your feedback. Feb 7th
11 Feb 26 Comment Hi Charles. I like this a lot. You took a touristy "postcard" shot and turned it into a piece of art. Your rendering of the building has an almost "pen and ink" feel to it. I do agree that the sky is a bit too processed for my taste and there are some issues with haloing, though I think Don's version is much more overdone. This would make a great print, perhaps on a watercolor style paper. Feb 7th
11 Feb 26 Comment Beautiful, Nenette! The details and lighting are well captured. I really like the gentle S curve along the center of the feather and the sense of dark to light as you move up the image. This would make a wonderful print. Feb 7th
11 Feb 26 Comment Hi Sheldon,
My wife and I visited Kilmainham Gaol back in 2010 during a week in Ireland. It's a very poignant place with a lot of sad stories. I think you caught the mood of the place beautifully with this capture. The black and white processing was the perfect choice.
I'm going to have to go back and revisit my own photos of this place.

11 Feb 26 Comment Murphy, I also love waterfalls and you captured a beautiful one here. Your one second exposure was perfect for the scene giving the image a sense of movement while preserving lots of detail in the water. Half the battle in photographing a waterfall of this size is picking out a composition and you did a masterful job here. Feb 7th
11 Feb 26 Comment Peter, good for you for trying something new. This is a lovely portrait. The model is well positioned to take advantage of the natural light, and you caught an interesting expression on her face. I like the color rendering, but the black and white gives the image a storytelling quality that it would otherwise lack. Feb 7th
11 Feb 26 Comment Happy to have been an inspiration! I like this a lot. You chose your vantage point well and the interactions and mergers of the lines and shapes work together beautifully. Perfect subject for black and white. Feb 7th

66 Feb 26 Comment Great shot, Steve. As with the others, it took me a minute to see that the background building is something else. Your processing is spot on and this would print splendidly. Feb 4th
66 Feb 26 Comment Beautifully made, Emil. I'm a big fan of square crops and I like what you did here, though I can also see the possibilities of a preserving the original composition.
Well done and congrats for the acceptance.

66 Feb 26 Comment Charles, I really like the feel of isolation and loneliness here. It's well processed as well. My major hesitation is with the shape of the observatory. In your original, the dome is narrower than the processed version. I think I prefer the original geometry. Feb 4th
66 Feb 26 Comment I love roads as leading lines and like what you did here. I would consider darkening the road some and brightening the boy up a bit to bring him out more. I agree with Charles about the sky. Feb 4th
66 Feb 26 Comment I like it, Arik. The composition and processing are outstanding. The merger between the top of the island foliage and background could easily be addressed by darkening the background just a bit more but it doesn't bother me all that much. Feb 4th
66 Feb 26 Comment I concur with the others. Great shot that highlights the beauty of IR in creating contrast between white foliage against structures. The little details like the chandelier really bring it home. Well done! Feb 4th
