Hi Charles,
Rugby is not for the faint-hearted and your image captures that well. I wince just looking at your subjects as they struggle over the ball. Processing was spot on for the scene. Excellent image. |

Hi Nenette,
Good for you for seeing an image in something most of us would just pass by. This is the sort of minimalism I like: seemingly simplistic while it reveals more detail upon closer inspection. I agree that black and white is the best choice for this. |

Hi Sheldon,
I love this tunnel. I've got a few photos of it myself, but have never thought to try processing them as black and white. This works beautifully! You did a masterful job of toning down the bright spots and including just enough shadow to provide interesting details. This would make an interesting print, especially on metallic finish paper. |

Hi Murphy,
I have my own share of images of these swans so I know what you are saying about how shy they are.
I like this group. The one spreading its wings provides a nice backdrop to the other four as they are looking in a different direction. Different stories come to mind as I ponder what they are reacting to.
Processing is excellent and brings out the birds beautfully. |

Hi Peter,
You picked a nice "moment" to capture the scene. I like your processing and your framing. The fact that everyone around your subject seems to be packing a camera is interesting but not necessarily helpful. I don't know what your philosophy is about how much editing is OK, but you might want to play with the newer AI tools to remove the other people from the scene to reduce clutter and to better focus the eye on your main subject. |

Hi Ed,
This is a lovely scene nicely photographed. Your exposure choices worked well here. My biggest concern is the bright area in the foreground water between the ground on the left and the rocks on the right. My eye keeps getting drawn to it despite the fact that it has very little detail in it. Consider creating a darker layer and masking it into that area. |

As a Tony Hillerman fan, I had long wanted to see this landmark for myself and finally had the opportunity last spring. I have to say that light, time of day, and atmospheric haze all conspired against me getting a worthwhile image.
This is wonderful - great sky, good detail, great shadows. I have no suggestions other than that you should print it. |

I agree with the others, Emil. The tree by itself would be a terrific image, but the fence makes this special. I hope you take the time to print this. |

Thanks for your thoughts, Charles. I have my own feelings of ambivalence about it as well and can't really express why either. |

Charles,
Beautiful scene, nicely composed. I like the direction you went in lightening the rocks, but would probably back it off just a bit. You also consider lightening the deciduous trees a bit. The sky is terrific. |

Arik,
Your processing is what really makes this a "summer" image. Nicely done. |

Hi Melanie,
Lovely composition. Your crop works beautifully here. I agree that you need to deal with the bright spot above the tree but otherwise it's a strong image. |
