11 Jun 25 Comment Hi Nenette. I absolutely love the perspective and processing of this image. I could go either way about the seagull. It's a nice touch, but I agree with Sheldon about the placement. You might consider shrinking it a bit and flipping it so it's moving downward from the top. Jun 24th
11 Jun 25 Comment I agree with Murphy and Nenette. Great image made more impactful by thoughtful processing. I especially like how nicely the cloud completes the diagonal line started by the sand and the leaning of the tree. Jun 24th
11 Jun 25 Comment Hi Murphy. Put me in the monochrome camp. I like the color version, but the shapes and textures really pop in B&W. I especially appreciate how well the drops accentuate the S curve of the leaf. Jun 24th
11 Jun 25 Comment I have to agree with the others - excellent image, beautifully processed! I hope you get the opportunity to print this. It would look terrific on the wall. Jun 24th

66 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Melanie. Good suggestion. Jun 21st
66 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Charles. I appreciate your thoughts. Jun 18th
66 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Jack.
The softness is probably due to diffraction from using an absurdly small aperture. I usually try to keep it larger than f/16 but must have closed down more than I intended. Also, the air around Monument Valley is full of dust. I really became aware of it swirling around when using a flashlight after dark.

66 Jun 25 Comment I like what you're trying to do here, Emil, but overall this just doesn't do it for me. The top of the tree is cut off at an awkward place, in my opinion, and I find the leaves tend to merge too much with the clouds. Jun 5th
66 Jun 25 Comment Wonderfully fun image, brilliantly processed, Gary! I do agree with Emil about the feathers as I wasn't sure what I was looking at when I first brought it up. Jun 5th
66 Jun 25 Comment Charles,
This is terrific. I'm glad you were able to get there early to get this composition. I agree with Emil's removal of the left forward object, but otherwise really like what you've done here. We went to China years ago and found all kinds of IR opportunities, but since we were with a tour group, avoiding crowds wasn't an option.

66 Jun 25 Comment Jack,
I agree with the others - get rid of the wire. Otherwise, I think this is one of your best yet.
Also, not sure why but there are some red dots on the flowers (?) at the base of the plinth above the decorative strip on the base. They sort of look like the blown highlight warning in Lightroom.

66 Jun 25 Comment Arik,
Great scene, perfectly timed. The fisheye was an inspired choice and makes me want to dig out my old Peleng and give it a go. I love the processing except for where the dark shadow on the pathway merges with the runner's shadow. I'd back it off just a bit to more closely match the shadows in the original. Otherwise, no suggestions.

66 Jun 25 Comment Melanie,
I love scenes like this and your approach to this subject is superb! I really have no suggestions other than to print it and enter into an art show or two. I've found "normal" people (i.e. nonphotographers) love these kinds of images and even buy them.

66 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Emil. I did play with detail extractor a bit, but didn't really love where it was taking me. Your approach is much better. I'll be taking another look. Jun 5th
66 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Gary. Your version is too strong for my taste, but I appreciate the time you took to show me another possibility. Wherever I end up, I will certainly commit it to print. Jun 5th
66 Jun 25 Reply Thanks, Arik. I did play with the dehaze slider but didn't like where it was going. I'll take another look, working more locally. Jun 5th
