Thanks, Sheldon and Nenette. Looking at it after a couple of weeks, I have agree about the contrast. I have to agree with Sheldon about the sharpening as well. Good insights. |

Well seen and processed, Nenette! I have to agree with Sheldon about the tree in the lower left as it draws my eye away from the main subject. I suspect using a content-aware removal tool would do the trick, but an AI tool like Sheldon referenced would also work. It's well worth the effort in my opinion. |

Hi Sheldon,
This is excellent. Monochrome is perfect for the subject and the contrast between darks and lights. This would print beautifully on a metallic type paper. |

Peter,
I really like this. Your patience paid off as the separation between the man the cranes is nearly perfect. The doorways make a wonderful "picture within a picture". While I do like the side windows, I think cropping them out also works well. See my version. I also cropped down a bit. |

Gary,
It's not the way I would go, but I appreciate what you're saying about isolate and simplify. Thanks for your suggestion. |

Thanks, Jack. The overcast day made it easier to ignore the little bit of sky I left in, but I go back and forth as to whether I should have cropped deeper. |

I agree with the others, Gary. This is "monumental"! Sorry, couldn't resist.
Great subject, beautifully processed. I hope you get a chance to print it. |

Charles,
I like it a lot, though I think you probably could have coaxed a bit more detail in the shadows near the peaks. I agree with Gary about darkening the lower left corner.
I love shooting red rocks in B&W IR. What you lose in color, you gain in textures and details that are often overwhelmed by the red. Great choice! |

Jack,
Great subject and terrific sky for IR. Looking at the others' comments, I have to agree with Emil's crop. I just like squares in general but it really works here. It also deals with the problematic sign in the lower right. I agree with you about the darker sky being preferable. |

Excellent, Arik. Good use of angles and I love the way the clouds pile up to the light post. It might be fun to brighten the light globe a bit to give the illusion that it is turned on. |

I love this, Melanie, but just to be a bit of a contrarian I would go with your revised foreground and background and leave the tree the way you originally processed it. Absolutely great subject for IR and well worth exploring these trees in the future. |
