11 Jan 25 Reply Thanks, Peter. It was a 6-stop ND filter. Jan 17th
11 Jan 25 Comment Wow. An interesting way to celebrate Christmas!
I really like this, Peter. With all due respect for Tom's crop, I prefer yours. I like the fact that we get a little bit of Jerrol's environment.

11 Jan 25 Comment Peter - I really like the simplicity of this image and turning it into a monochrome was an excellent choice. I would suggest a tighter crop and brightening the image overall. I did a quick edit to illustrate what I'm thinking. I'd be interested in your thoughts. Jan 17th

66 Jan 25 Comment One of my favorite places, Emil. The boats are nicely lined up and that sky is wonderful. The processing is spot-on. Jan 2nd
66 Jan 25 Comment Gary - my first thought when I saw this image before I read your text was "I'll bet that was shot at Joshua Tree!" Those boulders made a big impression on me when my wife and I visited for the first time two years ago. It's a great place and simple, but powerful compositions abound. It's perfect just as it is and I encourage you to make a print! Jan 2nd
66 Jan 25 Comment Charles,
Great image. The tourist is well-placed and draws our eye to the central subject. I did find it a bit dark for my taste and I think you could do without as much sky. I did a quick curves adjustment and cropped it in from the top and sides.

66 Jan 25 Comment Jack,
I'm with Gary about the quality of this composition. Just a great place to be with an IR camera. The challenge to play with this was too tempting to resist, but I went a different way, processing-wise. I cropping in quite a bit to minimize some of the problematic elements and played around with luminosity masks to isolate different tones.

66 Jan 25 Comment I echo Jack's comments, Arik. I love the composition and the tree and building are excellent. I'd like to see you open up shadows in both the bottom part of the building and the trees in the lower right. That would also minimize the haloing effect above the treeline to the right of the chapel. Jan 2nd
66 Jan 25 Comment Lovely composition, Melanie. I see lots to like about this image, but I think you darkened the background too much and didn't apply enough contrast to the sky. I've worked up a quick rendering to illustrate my point. See what you think. Jan 2nd
66 Jan 25 Reply Thanks, Jack. I see your point. I was on a bridge but could probably have gotten down a bit lower. Good thought for next time. Jan 1st
