Jim,
I really like this image. You found a terrific composition that lends itself to a number of different possibilities.
I will admit to preferring the color version, though I like the way the BW version is cropped. I do agree with Jim about getting rid of the rail. In fact if you were to do that, you could probably preserve the overall geometry of the image which I like better.

Jim,
I love images like this. Your composition and processing is spot on and I don't miss the mop bucket at all! Well done! |

Peter,
It's an interesting image, but I'm finding it difficult to evaluate fairly. I see that it is only 320 pixels wide by 225 pixels high. I think the guideline is 1920x1200. It's possible your email client may have shrunk it when sending. |

Your composition is excellent just the way it is, Peter. Well done! I'd go in the opposite direction as Jim, however. I would preserve the blown out sky and darken the blacks to really emphasize the graphic nature of this image. I've included an example of what I have it mind. |

Thanks for all of the encouraging comments, everyone! I decided to tweak the image a bit based on the feedback. I used generative fill in Photoshop to extend the right side so that the church had some room near the edge. Of course, I had to eliminate a number of things that exist in real life, but I thought this balanced out better. I also cropped down a bit to create more panoramic composition. Comments are welcome. |

Thanks, Arik. The tiny house is actually a sizable church located in the center of town. I left it in a small anchor point. I probably should have framed the image a bit better, especially to include the even larger church to the right of it. |

I like the composition a lot, Emil. I also really like the way the clouds echo the textures in the ground. It does feel a bit too dark for my taste. I took it into Photoshop and did a bit of work in Curves. It's a small adjustment but I think it works here. |

Jack,
It has a certain painterly feel that I find appealing. I think you could boost the whites quite a bit before you need to worry about overexposure and it would probably work well here. The boat is fine. It adds an element of interest as the viewer explores the frame. You could dodge the right edge a bit to bring out selective highlights yet preserve the vignette. |

Arik,
Nicely done. I'm a sucker for a pathway leading off into the distance and you placed it in just the right place. Processing is well-done with beautifully white leafy trees. |

This is beautiful, Melanie. Your processing was spot on for the subject. I have no suggestions. I prefer the black and white rendering, but I see a lot of possibilities with color here and would encourage you to explore them. |
