Thanks, Peter (and Jim and Christian). I had the camera set to auto-ISO with 12800 for my upper limit. The camera decided that 10000 was appropriate here. It was a quick snap. If I'd spent more time on it, I probably could have gotten aways with 3200. I was just grateful that software was able to clean it up so well. |

Nicely done, Jim. We've seen that cemetery, though from above the wall. Your image is much stronger than anything I took.
Compositionally, I really like how the pathway leads back to the mausoleum as well as the position of the tall statue. Processing is strong . |

Christian,
Wow! What a wonderful portrait of these two fine beasts. Your crop is exactly right, zeroing in on their expressive faces. Their fur and eyes are beautifully sharp and the background is appropriately out of focus. This would be a terrific print. |

Peter,
I concur. B&W turned a so-so image into a wonderful abstract. My only suggestion would be to remove the vertical piece in the lower center of the image. |

Darlene,
This is wonderful. Very creative use of a mask. B&W processing has turned a colorful souvenir into a haunting image. Not everyone loves generative fill, but it can be a very useful tool at times which you've shown here. |

I went back and spent some more time with this image. I used generative fill in Photoshop more aggressively to remove several more people and other distractions. I also used free transform to straighten the tower while preserving the horizon line. I thought it was worth the effort. Thanks to everyone for their feedback. |

Thanks, Melanie. The whole place is very whimsical, which, in my mind, made it perfect for IR. |

Thanks for the kind comments. A few comments about the people - I did remove some body parts intruding into the frame. I also used generative fill on a few with mixed results. I ultimately got lazy about the three partial people in the foreground. The others, especially the five in the foreground, I liked as part of the composition. For whatever reason, I kind of like keeping people in my IR images. |

Emil,
I don't think I can add much to what the others have written. The scene is wonderfully composed. Flipping the image was an inspired choice. Excellent. |

Palli,
Terrific image. I love stuff like this and really like the way you handled the processing of it. The lines in the rock make an excellent contrast to the angle of the plant. Well done. |

Gary,
Your creativity never ceases to amaze as you see something I would have just walked on by, oblivious to the possibilities. This is terrific in every way. |

Charles,
I'm with the others. Nice composition and an overall dreamy feel, like a scene in a dream. The cure in the walkway works wonderfully to reinforce that. |

Jack,
Wonderful. Beautifully composed and an interesting subject. This is a great example of why IR works so well for travel photography. Not the usual snapshots most people bring back. |

This is wonderfully creative, all the way from the ICM to the processing. I do have to admit that at first glance, the riders looked naked to me - you gotta love what IR does to synthetic fibers. All in all, however, I really like this. A technique worth exploring further. |

Melanie,
I agree with the others: terrific composition and a very nice subject for IR. You handled the blues beautifully. |
