Thanks, Michael. I like hard shadows on images like this. It's like I got two extra "hoses". |

Beautifully done, Christian. Monochrome and replacing the background really made this image special. |

Nicely seen, Jim. I love what IR does for scenes like this. I like your straightened version. I do have two suggestions which I incorporated into my version: remove that little wedge along the left edge and clean up those spots in the lower right corner. Both served to draw my eye away from the central image. |

I love the simplicity of this composition and you've put the frog in exactly the right place in my opinion. I find I like the monochrome and the color versions equally well. |

Good suggestions, Christian. The hoses and levers were the elements that drew my attention, but looking at the original again I can see that including more would yield a more balanced composition. Thanks for your insights! |

Good to hear from you, Murphy!
Thanks for your comments. I decided to give your idea a try and I think you're right. The flipped composition works really well. I've done this trick many times before but didn't think of it this time around. |

Thanks, Emil. We get over to the Palouse every couple of years. Twice last year - once in the spring, once in August for the harvest time. It's amazing how different the place is in the two seasons.
I've shot IR there for the last fifteen years or so and it still brings out things I would have completely missed. |

I don't think I can add anything to what the others have already written. It's excellent. |

I concur with the others, Palli. Beautifully done. Along with Jack I love photographing bicycles, especially in scenic locations. I'd be all over this scene but probably wouldn't render it half and nicely. |

Gary, very fun rendition. You know your tools and put them to good effect. It's not exactly to my taste and I have to think that the Bedford city fathers (and mothers) would be appalled, but who cares? Great stuff. |

Charles,
I agree with others. Excellent work. Great composition and processing.
Along with Arik, I have to wonder what a color rendition might yield, but I do love the black and white. |

Great subject for IR!
As with Arik and the others, this image would benefit from a tighter crop. I decided to play with it a bit by cropping in, using free transform to straighten the keystoning, and adjusting the contrast with a curves adjustment. I didn't have a lot of pixels to work with, but I think I got the idea across. |

Hi Palli. Thanks for your thoughts. I played with that composition but felt like there were too many elements I didn't want to lose. Still, your version definitely works as well. |

This is absolutely gorgeous, Melanie. Like something out of a classic children's story. I'm especially taken by the diagonal line between the heron and the girl.
Please make a print of this and put it in a prominent place. |

For many years, I've gone with LifePixel who are in my backyard. They do great work, but I appreciate that Kolari has figured out a few additional things - like not breaking sensor shaking for dust reduction and those clip filters I mentioned. It's nice to have choices and competition in this space. |

Thanks, Arik. I just took delivery on my latest IR camera - my old Sony A7R IV converted to full spectrum by Kolari Vision. I invested in their magnetic clip filters that sit right on top of the sensor. I have the 590 and 720. So much more convenient than screw-ons. |

Thanks, Gary. I also have a bias toward B&W IR, but it's fun to play with color once in a while. I would normally put the farmhouse on the left third or thereabouts, but I really didn't want to lose that dark band so decided to break the so-called rules. |
