Thanks, Jim. I didn't consider doing a sky replacement at the time, partly because I wanted to see what people thought of the picture as is. I'm definitely planning on doing it before using this image in club competition. |

Thanks for your thoughts, Christian. I did try some different techniques. Took me a minute to realize that NSE was probably Nik Silver Efex - hadn't seen that acronym before. I've been moving away from Silver Efex for most of my B&W work as I prefer to start with the Lightroom B&W profiles and work the color sliders. I did try Detail Extractor in Color Efex Pro but I wasn't as happy with the results as I've been with other images. |

Thanks, Jim. I played with the sky quite a bit but I think I like your treatment better. I do prefer my crop, however. I like the fence running along the bottom of the frame. |

Jack,
I really like this image. I agree with the others about that little cloud being a distraction, but otherwise, it's spot-on in my opinion. |

Thanks, Palli. I appreciate your comments and I like your BW version. I certainly tried a BW version of my own but kept coming back to the color one. As I said to Jack, I liked how the wood came out in my color rendition. |

Hi Jack, Thanks for your thoughts. Space was limited inside that cabin and this the composition that worked best in my mind. As to how I processed this, you're right. It is similar to a color version but I really liked what the IR was doing with the wood. I'm including a color images I took at the same time. I just swapped out the cameras on the tripod. I like it as well, but the wood isn't as interesting to me. |

Thanks, Arik. I appreciate your thoughts. Detail Extractor is a blunt instrument at times, but I liked what it did for me here. |

Emil, I like this a lot. The blue tone gives me the shivers which is what a scene like this should do. |

Palli, IR really works well with these sand sculpture images. Great detail and texture. |

Love the clouds and the overall composition, Charles. I do like your panoramic crop, but the horizon line feels tilted to the left quite a bit while the original feels tilted slightly to the right. I would also suggest darkening the sky between the clouds a bit to minimize fringing. |

Nice scene. The tree makes a great framing device. I had the same thought as Gary about the dog's legs. Frankly, I like the empty picnic table as it tells a story all its own. |

Melanie,
Lovely shot, extremely well composed. There's little about it that is uniquely infrared, but that's OK. |
