Thanks for your thoughts, Jim. You are absolutely right about that black dot. I completely missed it. It's a challenge to be objective about our own work sometimes. |

Nicely done, Jim. The processing works well, and I think you successfully created the "old-timey" feel this image needed. The only issue is that the image is too sharp! You just don't get that kind of detail in an old-fashioned photo. |

Having recently scanned thousands of family photos going back four generations, I found I really value images like this. Your processing gives it a timeless quality that the original lacks in my opinion. This would print beautifully. |

I love images like this. Wonderful abstract and I like your processing a lot. I think I prefer your darker version but it could go both ways. |

Thanks, Michael. Some great ideas there.
I've learned that there are two distinct skunk cabbages in the US - Symplocarpus foetidus which is common in the East and NE down to Tennessee; and Lysichiton americanus which is in the West coast and Mountain west. They seem to be pretty distinct from each other.
Who knew?

I think your skunk cabbages are more interesting than ours. Nice image. |

Thanks, Jim. Good suggestions. I went back and forth on the exposure adjustments, but your version works well in my view. |

Being an old guy, I'm finding getting low to be harder each time I do stuff like this but your point is well taken. |

Thanks, Gary. It being a formal display garden, I don't think draping a cloth behind the flower would have been well received. The other issue is that the fence was probably five feet away and would have required me stepping into the flowerbed. Another no-no.
I do take your point, however. It wouldn't have been too hard to remove the fence altogether in post and I'll take a look at that. |

I love interesting clouds in IR and this is why. Excellent processing and adding to the mountains was a great choice. Print it! |

Very creative as usual, Gary. The birds are a great touch and flipping the image works really well here. |

Charles,
Nicely composed. I like the amount of sky you included and I love the way the creek leads into the waterfall. I do find the overall image to be a bit too dark for my taste so I went in and did some selective lightening plus a slight vignette. What do you think? |

Jack,
Bicycles are one of my favorite subjects when traveling. I'm always looking for images where they can be a main focus point. I love this image, but I think I agree that your crop is a bit too much aggressive and crowds the bikes on the right. |

Arik,
I love it. You've taken the Orton idea to whole new level in this. I just might have to steal this idea. <g> |

I'm late to the party, but I concur with everyone else. This is a stunner. I hope you plan to print it. |
