Thanks for the kind comments, Jim. There were quite a few people on the pier, but they were mostly erased. There are a few at the very end that must have stood still for a while.
Funny thing - I submitted a print of this at our club's "Print Night" last night. There were two more images from other members taken from almost the identical spot. It's a popular subject! |

I love stuff like this. Kudos for seeing this. I agree with Jim's exposure adjustments, though I like your original composition. Other than that, excellent! |

Love the image and you found the perfect moment to click the shutter. Can you tell us a bit more about the image? |

Michael,
I have to agree with Allen here. To better focus the subject, I've gone in and cropped it to the center cotton ball, added some contrast and a slight vignette. |

Peter,
Fun image and nicely cropped. Lots of inspiration here. |

Jim,
I love stairs and other pathways as a subject. They always draw my eye and make me wonder where they're leading. This is a wonderful example of that sort of scene. Geometric corrections and processing are spot on here. Great job! |

I love this image. The exposure and processing are just right. My only thought is it might be a bit more dynamic if it were flipped horizontally, so I gave it a try. What do you think? |

Thanks, Arik. I used to use Detail Extractor a lot back in my extreme HDR days oh so many years ago. After going through HDR Rehab, I walked away from DE, Photomatix, and other easily abused tools. Lightroom Classic has most of what I need these days, though I am going back and looking at the old tools once again. |

Thanks, Melanie. We were back there last April, but the weather was gray and drizzly - not great for photography of any sort but especially IR. I was happy I had the earlier shoot to fall back on. |

Emil,
Absolutely wonderful scene. I've been drawn to this kind of work ever since I saw Clyde Butcher's presentation at the 2019 PSA conference.
That said, I think I favor version 2 over the original and I'm also drawn to Arik's color rendition. |

Palli,
I really like the moodiness of the image and the title works for me. My biggest issue with this image are the solid gray areas at the top of the hill. I see detail in the original so you might want to step back through your processes to see where it was lost. Using layers in Photoshop, you could probably paint it back in. |

Gary,
I guess I'm mostly in the "leave it" camp, but I do enjoy the creativity you've deployed here. It's a great example of what we can do when we look at old work with new eyes. |

I really like your version, but to me, the photo has a Japanese Garden vibe, so I did something I learned from Brooks Jensen from LensWork magazine a few years ago. I took it into Adobe Camera Raw, moved the clarity slider to the left, added a strong vignette, played with shadows and highlights. Just having some fun. What do you think? |

The trees are beautifully echoed in the clouds and the cars definitely scream Cuba. No suggestions. |

Love this scene. Terrific subject for IR. I also agree about darkening the sky, but I'd go for something half way between your version and Gary's which I found a bit oppressive. |
