Michael, Thanks for your version. I think it's more in line with my way of seeing. |

I like this a lot. The monochrome processing really brings out the texture in the hippo's hide and hairs.
A few nits: I would have allowed a bit more space in front of the mouth. It feels a bit crowded on the right side; I'm not sure I would have darkened the fruit quite so much. It's hard to see what it is; and even though the image is probably not tilted, it feels that way because of the slanted horizon line. |

A great example of how often there are pictures inside our pictures. It's great that you were able to crop into this area and retain good detail. There's a lot that draws me in here: the shape of the staircase, the shadows, the three circles and the parallel vertical lines. Excellent. |

I can see why the subject caught your eye. You have some interesting contrasts in subjects here. I do think, however, it could benefit from some simplifaction. I cropped in tighter to eliminate the stuff at the bottom of the frame and to bring it in a bit from the left. I also added a vignette to direct the eye to what I see as the main subject. |

Very dramatic image. It almost has a watercolor feel to it. |

I'm sorry for your loss, Allen. Always tough to lose a beloved pet.
I really like this image and I find monochrome to be great choice for the subject. The eyes are remarkable. My only thought on possible changes might be to clean up the bits of debris on the floor in front of her. |

Thanks, Charles. I play with white balance on all of my color IR work including this one. The red bias is probably more due to how I see things than anything else. I will take a look at it. |

Thanks, Arik. The brownish bits were a struggle, no doubt. I need to spend more time with this image, I think. |

The color palette is not to my taste, but I do like what you did here. Consider tilting it slightly to the right to level out the park benches. |

Great composition, perfect for BW IR. I like black skies in IR as much as the next guy, but I don't think it was needed here. I like the conifers in the background and they get lost the way you processed it here. I do agree about increasing the whites. |
