Fair point, Henry, and thanks. I'll admit that I got a bit lazy after all the other cleanup I did with this image. Your version points out that the effort is worth it. |

Nice scene, Jim, and a great candidate for B&W IR. If I'd had my druthers, I would have had you tip the camera down a bit to minimize the sky and include more of the foreground. It might have also allowed you to keep the fence line as a leading line. Nevertheless, I really like the different tones among the trees that you were able to accomplish. |

I like this a lot, Jim. The way the people are oriented on the diagonal works really well. The IR adds interest in the trees and sky. Great image. |

I love the way you caught the birds in formation and the way they follow the line in the clouds. I do feel like it's darker than it needs to be. I've taken it into Photoshop, added a levels adjustment and moved the right pointer until I got a white point. I also flipped the image horizontally to have the cranes fly left to right. For whatever reason, that appealed to me more. |

Good subject for monochrome. The colors are nice, but your conversion really brings out the shapes and textures of the petals of this rose. Nice job of using the new masking tools (love them!) to darken the background. You do have a bit of haloing in the upper right that needs a bit of touch up, however. My main nit to pick about the image is that only the upper part of the rose is sharp. I'd love to see a version shot at f/11 or even f/16. The greater DOF would easily counteract the possible loss of sharpness due to diffraction. |

Lovely composition, Gary. The simplicity of the flower and background and the positioning of the flower work wonderfully here. My only concern is that the petals of the flower seem a bit overexposed to my eye. |

Beautifully done image, Chuck. I love delicate foliage in IR and this is a great example of why. I have two concerns: I think your crop is a bit too extreme. The sides of the plant feel a bit crowded in my mind. The other is the background. I used Photoshop to select the color of the background and change it to black. I think it makes the flower really pop. |
