As you can see by my entry this month, subjects like this really appeal to me. Great base image, good choice of cropping. As the others said, it really tells a story. No suggestions. |

I love the image and I really like where Jim took it with his crop. One thing I found appealing in the original were the three round lights. I cropped it a bit differently to better emphasize those lights. |

I like this a lot. Composition is spot-on with the rocks forming a leading line moving from lower left to upper right. The bridge defines the upper third and creates a nice cross piece to the rocks. Sky isn't too interesting, but you included just enough for context. Processing is good with a nice range of tones from light to dark.
Monochrome was definitely the way to go here as the color version isn't nearly as compelling. |

Thanks, Chan. Fortunately, I made a lot of images with a variety of compositions. On top of that, the clouds were moving pretty quickly so I have a lot of different options. I'll have to go back and take another look. |

As I said elsewhere, trees are great in IR, especially dead ones. You found a great composition here.
I took a crack at tweaking it a bit. I cropped down from the top, preserving the best of the cloud texture. I also did a hue/saturation adjustment in Photoshop, moving the tree a bit more toward yellow and bringing down saturation and lightness. I moved the blues more toward a natural sky color.
Your horizon line was off just a bit, so I fixed that as well. |

It has a nice, dreamy feel to it. Like Chuck, I decided to take a crack at an alternative process.
I liked the reflection, so I left in more of the foreground in my crop. I prefer the original orientation, so left that alone, but otherwise followed your side cropping.
I then opened up shadows and brought down highlights with a shadows/highlights adjustment. I played with curves and added a black and white adjustment, tinting similarly to what you had. Finally, I added a slight vignette. |

Trees can be wonderful in IR which your image demonstrates very well. I think I would have included a bit more of the foreground as the bottom of the composition feels somewhat cramped. I generally like square compositions, but in this case, I think a 5x4 might be a better choice.
Otherwise, I really like this. |

Terrific subject and nice treatment overall. Otherwise, I concur with Chuck and Chan. |

Nice composition and treatment. You picked a great subject for IR and I like the way the walkway leads my eye through the image. It does feel blown out in the center. I see information in the original image, so you might take a look and see if those details are recoverable. |
