It's a magical place and you've captured it well. I have no suggestions. |

Great architectural shot. I like the angle of view. I'm not sure I concur about straightening the uprights, however. It feels a bit too "top-heavy" to me. I do like what you did with the base. |

Great storytelling image. I agree that it needs more contrast. While the sky isn't terribly interesting, I think you may have cropped down too much. It feels a bit cramped. Consider recropping about half as much as before. |

I like the image a great deal, but I concur with the others about the processing. I also prefer Jim's crop. There's also a bit of fringing around the lighthouse. I'm also looking forward to seeing more from Iceland. It's a wonderland for photographers. |

I like the angle you shot this at. It's a nice grouping of the three heads and the midday sun works well here. You did a great job of dealing with the hot spots on the figures' foreheads and balancing the light.
Where I think you were less successful was the blurring of the background. The blurring just does look natural to me. If you were to reduce the amount of blur by around a half, I think you'd have a more successful result. |

Thanks, Allen (and Jim). You're right about the limitations of online images. I think I'm going to go ahead and print this one out. Haven't been doing that too much lately and I need the practice. |

Lovely pastoral image, Allen. Wonderful processing.
A few minor ideas: crop in a bit more on the right, maybe half-way to the branch to balance the composition a bit; add a slight vignette, particularly on the left edge. |

Fair enough, Gary, but my Oregon friends would not be amused with you putting Crater Lake in California. <g> |

Thanks, Chan. I appreciate your thoughts. Most of my IR work over the years has been in monochrome, so it was interesting to go back to these early images and play with the colors. I certainly could have gone a different way, but I liked the play between the browns and oranges against the blue.
As it happens, I just had a new camera converted this last week - my first full-spectrum conversion. I ordered a array of filters to go with it, including an 830nm. I'm eager to see how it performs versus the 72nm conversions I've most done in recent years. |

Succulents in IR! One of my favorite subjects and perfect for monochrome processing.
A few thoughts - the bits to the right don't really add to the overall composition. On my version, I cropped it to a square and darkened that part quite a bit. Also, it seemed overly noisy (which may be from the Jpg conversion), so I brought up the ACR filter from inside Photoshop and applied some noise reduction and upped sharpening a bit. |
