Great sky, excellent composition. Your monochrome conversion was spot-on. The only suggestion I have is to consider a slight vignette to pull the eye more toward the center. |

I'm afraid I have to agree with Tom about not liking the inversion. However, I found his version a bit too dark and foreboding for a daffodil picture. The world is a bit too dark and foreboding as it is.
Anyway, I took the color version and converted it to monochrome in Adobe Camera Raw. I found the background too distracting, so I selected it in Photoshop and overlaid it with a black layer, reducing its opacity to around 40%. I then dodged and burned the flower to lighten it overall. I use pretty much the same technique as Tom. |
