Lovely harbor scene in Alaska. You have been able to bring out so much in the picture with lightening the whole scene. I think I would narrow your focus to just the front boat and bring out the color and features of that boat without lightening up the masts in the background of the photo. But I really like the colors of the front boat: turquoise and their reflection in the water! |

The red flowers are beautiful! The focus point is exactly right: the center of the front flower. Good choices on editing the original image. Well done! |

I agree with Ray that with 8 photos, each one focused on a different area, for focus stacking, you would have gotten the whole leaf in focus. But this is just your first try. Good job. Keep up with learning new techniques! |

The strong dynamic form of the dancer is the most striking aspect of the image. I think you had to increase the brightness on her because I think the sun is coming from the back, putting her face in shadow. I think you could increase the contrast a bit and use a vignette to reduce the brightness of the sand. |

Great capture of this structure. I liked your description of the steps you took to get the image as a pano, and then converting it to black and white and rotating it. All of your choices of image composition, image treatment (editing) were very good. The black and white is great for emphasizing the lines in space. |

Hi Stephen,
I shot the flowers with a wide angle lens set at 14 mm. I was down on the ground right in front of the poppies. The aperture was f/16 and the shutter was 1/100 sec.
Thanks for your kind comment. |

This image is of a very impressive building. I very much like the angle of view because it shows off the interesting architecture of the structure. Also, the buildings in the background are so colorfully lit that it takes attention away from the main subject. It looks as though it was photographed inside because of the color in the sky. But after examining the photo it looks like evening with a glow in the sky. Very interesting subject and well done. |
