Hi Martin, Interesting take on the subject. Will be interesting to see how a judge handles your abstract repetition. The blue wall option is interesting. The red lady looks shopped in. Good luck! |

Thanks Henry, there are 90 or so huge trucks bringing hay in a convoy from Western Australia to help feed the animals in the drought areas of South Australia. |

Thanks Catherine. The funny part is that a lot of Queensland has been under flood water for the past few months. This water has gradually made its way into the centre of the country via various rivers that are usually dry. My husband and I put our small aluminum boat in the water and traveled along one of these rivers for 140 miles (about 230 km) to Lake Eyre which is a very large dry salt lake in May of this year. We took just over 2 weeks to get to the Lake and back. |

Thank you Janice, The southern parts of the state are now receiving a little bit of rain, but the drought continues for our farmers. |

Thanks Don, It is a scene being played out in much of the northern areas of South Australia by many farmers. There are some dry storms that come through and the wind takes away all of their topsoil to compound their problems. |

Thanks Martin, the rain still has not come to this area. There are convoys of trucks bringing hay to the area to feed the livestock. It is so sad. |

Hi Andrew, What a great shot! The colours work well together and I certainly would not go Monochrome with this one. I love the shadows giving us information that is not in the main features of the photo. The only thing I would suggest is trying to straighten the bottom of the tank and maybe darkening the paving a little as it is very light. The window to me seems straight, but the bottom line give the impression that things are crooked. Photoshop will be your friend here. |

Hi Henry, You must have had a lot of fun playing with this photograph. I'm amazed that you can get such a painterly finish to a photograph. I agree with Janice's comments about the texture of "the" leaf. It does look a bit plain. I don't mind it being darker though. Hope you have plenty of wall space at home! |

Hi Janice,
Oh, I am drooling at the thought of all that yummy nougat! My first thought when I read your description was please be careful with the post processing. I suggest that you check the definition to see just what editing is allowed. In international competition pretty much nothing is allowed other than cropping (which you have done an excellent job with). I do like the angle you have taken this from, but please also check about posed photos as Judy alluded to. Good luck! |

Hi Don,
I'm glad you had a great day with the plane that you so obviously have a connection with. It's very interesting to see a plane with such a bright finish. I do like your re work of the image, but think it looks off balance. Consider cropping from the left to leave as much room between the edge of the shot and the first tip of the propeller as there is from the right edge to the plane. |

Hi Ling Ling, I like the subtle colours in your image. If you use lightroom, try selecting just the water area and play with the texture slider taking it to the left to see if that helps achieve the milky water effect. I would also lower the highlight levels of the water. You have a lovely image of Mt Fuji. |

Hi Catherine, This is a great shot. I could see it on the doctor's waiting room wall. I do like the colour graduations down the page. Perhaps the only thing I would try is to take out the highlights from the top row and hope that it darkened a little bit. That row is bright and takes the eye, whereas the eye goes exploring on the other levels. |
