Wow Martin, you have a very interesting image here. Those purple pants are a knockout. Like Piers, I am surprised at the sharpness of the hair at that low shutter speed. The framing of the "two" people is well done. WEll captured. These Saturday walks are proving very fruitful for your photography! |

Thanks Henry. As I said in the description, this image was straight from the camera with no processing. After reading the comments above, I have taken the time to edit it and it will be interesting to see how it goes. I have taken many photographs of the black line around the ceiling (similar to last month's image) which have been successful. |

Thanks Janice, The building is in the CBD, so not too far to travel to take more photos. I will try your suggestion next time (I can get down ok, but these days getting the knees to get me up again is a different matter!). The main part of the ceiling doesn't have much in the way of interest, but It would be interesting to see it from a different angle. |

Hi Catherine, This is an interesting photo. I wonder if you were able to shoot from a slightly different angle. I think I would have tried standing in the same spot, but shooting more toward the left which would shift the end of the bridge a little to the right. Were you able to hold the camera higher to shoot from a different perspective. This may or may not have shown us more of the bridge lying in the grass. Not sure if you have used the texture slider in Lightroom, but it may help to add some extra interest to the wood. Lots of ideas have been given to you so maybe you would be able to go back to this area and experiment. |

Hi Ling Ling. My first reaction was "WOW!". This is the most interesting image of Mt Fuji that I've seen. I love your angle and including the jetty and grass is good. Not sure which version I like. The gate adds some extra interest and is different to most jetties, however it does pull the eye a bit. I love the reflections of bot the Mt and the city lights. You did extremely well to be out of bed at 3:30, but it has paid off. I suggest this should be printed in a large size and hung on a wall. |

Hi Janice, Lucky you to have been to Iceland! I like the contrast between the snowy mountains and what appears to be dry grass that the horse is standing in. It is always so hard to take photos from a moving vehicle. I use quite a high shutter speed to try to freeze what I am seeing. It's important to take photos like this as they are what keeps your memories alive. |

Hi Don, firstly I would like to wish you a safe and very successful trip. Enjoy your underwater photography. It is a lot of fun filled with many challenges, not the least being seeing a fish and framing it, but as you click the shutter button it skidaddles out of frame! We had much success with a point and shoot camera but you may need a flash.
Your black and white image is stunning and has much more interest than the coloured version, but I am biased to monochrome. There are haloes on the hills going down toward the sea that need to be corrected. Glad you straightened the horison. There is a feature in the crop function in Lightroom that will do this. |

Hi Henry, This is a lovely image that makes you stop and look at the details. The red in the water to me seems to be the hero as it draws my eye. It would be better if the tree was the hero. I wonder if making the tree a little bit lighter so that it was slightly lighter in colour to the lily pads would work. Not sure what to do with the red. Maybe darken it to try to make it hide a bit?? You have captured a great image. |

Hi Nigel, thank you for your comments. Yes, the area is very striking and does come up well in a photograph. |

Hi Don,
My image was really straight from the camera so that you could see the profile of the roof where I have taken many abstract photographs. The area has a cave type feel as you walk through it as it is not very long. |
