Hi Martin, this is an interesting image, but I see something in her that worries me. I took the liberty of taking your photo to PS. I went to filters, liquify, mouth. I made her smile (75) and grew her top lip (30) to achieve this result which I think makes her feel a little more relaxed. I did no other adjustment. Let me know what you think. |

Hi, Thanks for your comments. I'll play with the cropping. I'm glad you checked out the Kookaburras. They sound great and their song travels for a long way. Check out this youtube.

Thanks for your comments Henry. the following is a link to a youtube video showing some laughing Kookaburras. They usually don't laugh for this long, but you will hear the sounds that they make.

Hi Andrew, I was not aware of the cardboard collectors so spent a few minutes googling it. How interesting. How sad. I now understand why you chose not to show the face of the woman. Your image is a good social documentary one. |

Hi Henry, I think I like he more natural colours in the original a bit better than your final image. I do like the fact that the water does look dreamy, but there is more detail on the rocks and foliage in the lighter original image. The composition is good and the light colour of the water leads the eye through the image well. |

I have not done any processing on the image, just cropping and straightening the left side. As you will notice, I also flipped the image. Hope this gives you a few ideas to play with.
It is such a pity that it has all been destroyed now. |

Hi Don. Decisions, decisions! I like what you have done with your image. The crooked line of the join in the "corrie" iron seems annoying when your image is so full of straight lines. I wonder if you could straighten the line using the transform > skew function in PS. It would be interesting to see what you could do with the original and the two structures. I don't mind the diagonal line of the shadow, but the barbed wire would have to go. I like the fact that there are two objects, one smaller than the other. |

Hi Janice, I do like the treatment you have done on the background. It really makes the dancer stand out. He is so colourful and very sharp. Great job! |

Oh my goodness, Ling Ling, it looks so cold. I applaud you for getting out of a warm bed so early, but your photo was worth it. I like the sandwich of colours. The only thing I would change is that spit of land on the right. It keeps dragging my eye to it. I think cloning it out would leave the beautiful mountains and make you look at them more closely. Well done! |
