Thanks for your comments. I tried to lighten the large tree to make it the point of interest. Unfortunately, we had decided to abort the trip and we were trying to get our boat back to the launch spot before dark. Unfortunately the timing didn't work when we ran out of gas and had to pull up to fill the tank with gas we had carried in a can in the boat. |

Thanks Ling Ling. The flies were worse than the mosquitoes. If you had your tulle fly veil (like a bag that goes over your hat. It usually has a draw string around the bottom so that you can close up the opening around your neck.) off the flies would quickly march up your nose or into your eyes, mouth or ears. It was not nice. |

Thank you Henry. I have not yet settled on the presentation. I like them both. It certainly was magical to see but the camera just did not capture the colours very well. |

Thank you Don. It really was so very hot when we were out there. |

Hi Andrew, this is a lovely image of the majestic deer. I would be tempted to crop the bottom to between the feet and the tall tuft of grass. This would change the orientation to a landscape format. |

Hi Henry, I think I like the crop in the original image better. It shows the trees but also the path that the water is taking through the image. Thanks for the explanation of the colour of the water. I like the way you have lightened the shadows to show what was hidden in the darkness. |

HI Don, I do like your crop which brings the tree closer to us and still shows the loneliness of the area. Was there a possibility of you moving further around the the right? This would have lessened the plain area between the tree and the hill, but you would have been able to get more of the hill into your shot. As it is, I don't think there is quite enough of the hill there. |

Hi Janice, I think the red of the horses and the green of the grass and trees work well together. I think I would crop off the out of focus grass as it keeps dragging my eye to it. The cropping of the foal was good. |

Hi Ling Ling, as the others have said, you have a lovely image here. I think I like the added sky a little better as it gives a happier feel to the image. The colours work well together too. |

Hi Catherine,
I really like your image. The diagonal is good. The feeling that you get looking at the photo is also good. I would leave the sand areas as they are. If I did anything, I would add some clarity to the fence just to darken it a little. Well done! |

Hmm. Not sure if it is now better! Certainly has a point of interest though. |

Hi Martin, thanks for your comments. We saw this in very late light which made the trees sing. 30 minutes later was too dark to take any photographs. I've tried to process the image to emulate the late light that it was taken in that the camera did not pick up. I'm not happy with the image. |
