40 Jan 23 Comment Thanks for your comments. I have darkened the wings a bit. Jan 31st
40 Jan 23 Reply Thanks Andrew, I have plenty of room to play with and I will re-crop this image. Jan 22nd
40 Jan 23 Reply Thank you for your comments Henry. The pelican was coming in to land which may be why the wings / feathers are in positions that we don't usually see. Jan 22nd
40 Jan 23 Reply Hi Sharon. Thank you for your comments. Yes, I did shoot this bird with burst shooting and therefore I do have other images to play with. I will re-crop this image. There is plenty of room to do this as you can see in the original. Jan 22nd
40 Jan 23 Reply Thanks for your comments Jamie. The bird looks like it is taking off, but it was actually coming in to land. Jan 22nd
40 Jan 23 Reply Thanks for your comments Catherine. Jan 22nd
40 Jan 23 Reply Hi Don, thank you for your comments! I do enjoy the challenge of "shooting" birds. Jan 22nd
40 Jan 23 Reply Thanks for your comments Mike. I did darken the water and reduce the highlights and it does look better. Thank you! Jan 22nd
40 Jan 23 Comment Hi Catherine, swans in Australia are black, so it is always strange to me when I see white ones. You have done a great job with this shot and your patience has been well rewarded. The bird almost looks like it is doing ballet. The whites have been handled well and there is a lot of detail in that big, powerful wing. Jan 8th
40 Jan 23 Comment Hi Lin, I like the colours in your image. There is plenty of detail in the buildings there is foreground, middle and background. The snow covered areas make me feel cold! Jan 8th
40 Jan 23 Comment Hi Jamie, I love the colours in this image. The people give a size perspective. As for cropping, I can't decide if I would take a bit more off the left side. This would bring the sun more to the middle of the image. I think I like what you have done. Jan 8th
40 Jan 23 Comment Hi Don. Winner! This is a great image with plenty to see. My eye went straight to the "stairs" of the building on the left, which led me to the top part of the image. I like the colours here. The only thing that bothers me is the reflection on the right that draws my eye. I think you would have a stronger image if that area was cropped. I would also crop the top just a little to remove the slither of window. A great city scape. Well done! Jan 8th
40 Jan 23 Comment Hi Henry, I took one look at this image and to me it screamed Rio. I looked for the Redeemer statue. We visited there in 2013. So many people! It's hard to get a clear view of anything through the crowds. I think that you did a great job with the processing to bring some life into the image. Jan 8th
40 Jan 23 Comment Hi Andrew, I really enjoy this image. When I first looked at it I thought it may have been from Iceland (not that I have ever been there, but the colourings in your image took me there). I wonder if running a contrast brush around the sky would bring out any cloud detail. I can see a little bit on the left side, but that is all I would do to this lovely image. Jan 8th
